Wine Discovery Classes

So you love wine but can’t tell a Cabernet Sauvignon from a Syrah without looking at the label?  Not sure what all the hoopla in regards to Burgundy and Bordeaux is all about and what makes them different from California?  You want to buy a great wine to take to the hostess at that hot dinner party but unsure which to buy?  We all start there at some point.  But how much do you really need to know to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner?  After all, as one person I know put it so succinctly, nobody goes to school to study orange juice to have it with breakfast.

Greystone, CIAThere is no reason why you have to study wine to enjoy drinking it and you can always get a knowledgeable wine merchant to help you pick a bottle for your hostess.  But if you want to take your wine expertise to the next level you might want to consider taking a few classes to increase your tasting experience.

The world of wine is incredibly diverse; there are over 3,000 wineries in California alone and over 300 just in the Napa Valley.  Without some serious help it’s hard for a novice to even know where to start.  Just try figuring out a French or German wine label without some guidance; it can be next to impossible!
